Great Women (Canadian) - Agnes MacPhail - Eco Tote Bag
" I want for myself what I want for other women, absolute equality.
Agnes MacPhail, one of Canada's Famous Five, fought to get women recognized as persons under law. She also served as a federal Member of Parliament and the only woman elected the year women were given the right to vote federally. She was also involved in prison reform, founding the Elizabeth Fry Society, and supported nationalizing some sectors to allow for better work environment. She was also the first woman to be appointed to the Canadian delegate to the League of Nations.
